Salvatore Tarascio - Executive Chairman
The ability of Salta Properties Founder and Executive Chairman Salvatore (Sam) Tarascio to consistently see opportunities in the property marketplace has been central to our growth as one of Australia's largest privately owned companies. Performing an integral role in the day-to-day operations of the company, it was Sam's decision to construct a warehouse for our former sister company Westgate Logistics that led to the establishment of Salta Properties. That was in 1974 and at the time the company was called Westgate Storage. Today Sam's vision has led to Salta Properties being one of the largest and most diversified privately-owned property companies in Australia.
Sam Tarascio - Managing Director
As Managing Director of the Salta Group, Sam Tarascio is responsible for the day to day running of the group's development, construction, asset management and funds management activities.
After a long informal education in property through Salta's founder, Salvatore Tarascio, Sam now has more than 10 years formal hands on experience in the property industry. Following a brief stint at corporate advisory firm Coopers & Lybrand, Sam started his career in property at Jones Lang LaSalle gaining experience in their property management and then sales and leasing divisions. Sam joined the family company, Salta, in 1999 first in the group's asset management business before moving on to take an active role in the company's largest development at the time, the Victoria Gardens mixed use residential, commercial, and retail precinct.
Since that time, Sam has been actively involved in the rapid expansion of the Group, and took on the position of Managing Director in 2005. During his time as Managing Director, the company has significantly grown its development pipeline and has overseen the growth of Salta Constructions to become one of the largest commercial builders in Australia.
Sam is a licensed real estate agent and is also a Director of the St Vincent's Institute Foundation which support the activities of the St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research.
