Victoria Dock

Salta Properties' redevelopment of Melbourne Ports' Victoria Dock is our major infrastructure project. It incorporates a major container handling facility with rail access, a 17,000 square metre warehouse facility able to handle chilled and ambient goods and two shipping berths. It will be linked via rail to two major inland ports that we are developing in Melbourne's south east and west. The project consists of a new 17,000m2 warehouse and an office building with state-of-the-art loading, unloading, storage and distribution capabilities. A new dual gauge rail siding has been constructed for the first time in Victoria since the introduction of the new rail standards. Heavy duty pavements to load/unload containers using 110 ton axle load forklifts have been adopted making this a highly specialised design and construct component of the works. These works were all undertaken on the rehabilitated bed of the Moonee Ponds Creek and marshlands.
