Supporting the complex business of broadcasting

As Chief Engineer of Nova 100 and Vega 915 radio stations, I would use one word to best describe Salta Asset Management, "accommodating".

To support the complex operation of our business, cooperation is required and the Asset Management team go the extra mile, not just in providing a roof over our heads.

In considering our business location, we had to factor in some specific engineering requirements; adequate areas to locate and support power, air conditioning and radio frequency broadcast equipment. For us it was important to install and maintain a large amount of independent infrastructure for our sole use. Of paramount importance also was for us to have an uninterrupted "line of sight" to our transmission facility on Mount Dandenong. From the outset the Asset Management team were able to understand the requirements of our business and set out to help us in establishing our business in Victoria Gardens, Richmond.

We took up occupancy in mid 2001 and by the end of the same year launched the first new Melbourne based FM service in more than 20 years (Nova 100) from our state of the art, fully digital broadcast facility.

By 2005 we were ready to expand further. Our first challenge was how to do this in a fully occupied building. Together with Salta we identified the solution to our expansion needs and were able to embark on a major construction project that involved loading a number of tons of material to our level of the premises, several crane lifts and a large number of contractors on site. With the assistance of Salta we were also able to secure temporary car parking during the construction. We were then ready to launch a second FM Service - Vega 91.5!

Today, with two fully operational radio stations live, we regularly approach Salta to assist us with a variety of requests ranging from daily operational matters to assistance with the production of radio contests and stunts by using external locations and vacant land!

Salta has and continues to provide us with excellent service at all levels of their business. Their great cooperation allows our business to function effectively and at the fast pace that we demand.
