We are also a proud supporter of the St Vincent’s Institute (SVI), an independent medical research institute conducting researching into the cause, prevention and treatment of disease.
Tenant Engagement
Our continuous investment into infrastructure upgrades and amenities as well as new building developments continues to attract and retain incredible tenants to the Salta portfolio. We understand their sustainability and corporate responsibility values and help drive change and achieve outcomes through our commitment to collaborate and strengthen the working environment.
New technologies like the Equiem virtual tenant engagement app help us build and enhance community experience and have a better understanding of our customers. Equiem offers occupants a convenient and enjoyable way to interact with properties, hyper-local services and connection with other occupants. Nexus Corporate is the first business park in the world to implement the Equiem platform.
Current initiatives in our commercial properties include monitoring tenants’ expectations using surveys and interactive workshops, as well as keeping an open channel of communication to facilitate internal discussions on how we can better support our customers.
We have identified areas where together with tenants we can have the most impact, including waste management, expanding staff commuting options, creating health and wellness amenities and including local, premium healthy food service options.
Our Approach
Sustainable Design
Since 2007, Salta developments have been designed to achieve both strong Green Star and NABERS Energy ratings. 1 Nexus Court was the second building in Victoria and the first building outside the CBD to be awarded the GBCA 5 Star As Built rating.
By committing to reduce our impact during the early design phase of each project, we can together a make longer-lasting sustainability impact. From water efficiency to indoor environment quality, our design excellence is instilled from the outset, creating stronger and better built communities as a result.
Resources
Our Sustainability Manager, Nikki Paton, has been a Green Star Accredited Professional for 10 years and is a member of the Property Council of Australia, Victorian Chapter's Sustainable Development Committee.
At Salta, she's responsible for promoting a health, wellbeing, community and sustainability focus for new projects, existing assets and the overall Salta business. Nikki ensures that Salta's strategic position around sustainability and energy is developed and maintained and that opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies through sustainability initiatives are maximised.
Materials
We are committed to sourcing and specifying sustainable materials as much as possible across all of our projects, to meet Green Star, Fitwel and NABERS ratings. This relates to products and design approaches to optimise energy efficiency, including double glazing, metering systems, water fixtures, insulation and building orientation.
Our aim is to reduce our costs and ecological footprint, while still delivering a high level of quality and comfort across all our buildings. And by using long-lasting materials, we not only create stewardship within our business, but also buildings that endure into the future.
Technology Innovation
What sets us apart is our commitment to continuously assess and optimise every one of our building’s operations. We do this using a range of smart building innovations, so that we can strengthen our portfolio performance, increase asset valuation and improve operational efficiency.
Our innovations include our cloud-based building performance portal ADAMM (Asset Database for Audits and Maintenance Management), our own Salta Minimum Sustainability Standards Matrix, our world-leading Equiem app, and our Salta Sustainability Wiki.
