Bunnings Commits to Nexus Dandenong South Industrial Precinct with Seven Year Renewal and Tenancy Expansion

Salta has solidified an ongoing partnership with blue-chip home improvement group, Bunnings  completing a site expansion for the Group within the Nexus Dandenong South industrial precinct.

Adding a new state-of-the-art 12,400sqm facility to its site, the expansion brings its premises to over 52,400sqm in size. Secured as Nexus industrial’s first major tenant back in 2014, Bunnings has also renewed its tenancy for a further seven years, affirming its commitment to what is recognised as the South-East's premier industrial and logistics hub

Conceptualised in partnership with Salta’s in house development and project management teams and architectural group, Watson Young, Bunnings’ expanded facility features an expanded cross-docking system, dual working faces for inbound and outbound logistics as well as a substantial upgrade to its office space to accommodate the group’s growing workforce – with the added space including a recreational area, open plan office and improved MHE charging capabilities.

The completion of the Group's expanded site also complements the footprint of other major brands calling Salta’s Nexus Dandenong South industrial precinct home including Woolworths, as well as the likes of Martin Brower, Schneider Electrics, Mondiale VGL and Silk Contract Logistics. A significant warehouse facility for global automotive giant, Walkinshaw Automotive Group, which will be the Nexus Dandenong South’s largest pre-lease commitment being over 50,000sqm in size, is also due to complete later this year.

Salta Managing Director Sam Tarascio said that Salta’s ability to attract, expand, and retain top-tier brands such as Bunnings speaks volumes about the enduring value that the Nexus Dandenong South industrial precinct provides.

“Our commitment to delivering quality projects and fostering strong customer relationships has seen our Nexus Dandenong South Industrial precinct attract a diverse range of businesses – from small to large. It is this commitment that has seen us achieve 100 per cent lease renewals and has cemented the precinct’s status as a leading industrial and logistics hub in Melbourne’s Southeast – which is an area regarded as a landmark destination for industrial activity,” said Tarascio

Joining the precinct with a record-breaking 40,000sqm lease commitment 14 years ago, the arrival of Bunnings served as a catalyst for critical infrastructure development, including roadworks, drainage and essential services to put Melbourne’s Southeast on the map as an industrial and logistics landmark.

“Salta’s continued focus on enhancing the site, including substantial infrastructure investments in roads, water management and essential services, ensures that it will remain an attractive location for businesses seeking scalable, high quality industrial and logistics solutions.” added Tarascio.

Salta Director of Commercial and Industrial Development Owen Smith, worked on securing Bunnings back in 2011, and is thrilled to see the Group expand, and commit with a renewed lease agreement.

“Salta has worked closely with Bunnings for over a decade. We’re pleased to be able to support them with this expanded facility, which will enhance the group’s operational efficiencies, allowing them to better service their retail network by managing stock that cannot be delivered directly from suppliers to stores,” said Smith.

Salta is proactively adding to its flagship industrial precinct, building speculative sites at Nexus Dandenong South with the goal of attracting further name-brands with move-in ready facilities.

“We’re always thinking about ways to move forward at Nexus – ready to meet the needs of industrial businesses from small to large. Our latest edition includes a 9,500sqm standalone warehouse with 500sqm of dual-floor office space, strategically located at 35 Portlink Drive, as well as significant infrastructure upgrades, including a soon-to-be-built Bayliss Road,”  added Smith.

“With this offering, in conjunction with the massive site for Walkinshaw set to complete later this year, the Precinct is set to be a hive of activity. We look forward to adding to the Precinct with more speculative, and pre-lease offerings, to meet the demand.”

The expansion of Bunnings’ tenancy at Nexus Dandenong South was completed in May 2025, with staff now utilising the facility.
