Salta celebrated the completion of Walkinshaw Group’s new Australian headquarters within the Nexus Dandenong South industrial precinct on Monday, 17 November 2025.

Located at 820 Taylors Road, the expansive new headquarters sits on a 100,000sqm-plus site, delivering a single, integrated home for Walkinshaw’s manufacturing, engineering, remanufacturing and corporate operations. Notably, the project marks the largest pre-lease commitment in Salta’s history and the most significant industrial warehouse commitment in Dandenong South for more than a decade.

Following a competitive tender process led by TMX, Salta was selected as the preferred developer, reflecting not only the strategic alignment between two long-standing family-owned businesses, but also Salta’s proven performance in the South East Industrial Market. Built by FDC Construction, the project showcases premium design and detail resulting in an innovative solution rarely found in industrial warehousing - featuring more than 46,000sqm of advanced warehouse and manufacturing space, over 3,000sqm of office space spanning two levels, over 33,000sqm of hardstand as well as 700 on-grade car parks.

Key for Walkinshaw was the site’s capacity for specially configured production lines, with the premises now featuring six specialist lines for some of the largest Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the world. Led by Salta’s in-house development and project management teams, the lines see dedicated engineering systems for Walkinshaw’s racing team, complete with modern high-bay racking and warehousing - bringing functions that were previously spread across three separate sites together on to one expansive campus.

Importantly, the site will be a huge step towards the group’s carbon neutrality, with solar power to match the sites utility usage, waste initiatives and access to the future intermodal rail link.

Salta’s Managing Director, Sam Tarascio said the Group is proud to deliver a new and consolidated space for Walkinshaw’s teams that will reduce inter-site travel, improve operational cohesion and create efficiencies that support growth and productivity for the Walkinshaw Group.“We are extremely proud to deliver such a highly technical, bespoke facility of this scale for a generational business such as Walkinshaw.”

“The complexity of the project demonstrates Salta’s capability across development, project management, as well as asset and facilities management - from detailed tenant engagement and design through to on-time delivery and post-completion operations. Our in-house approach meant we could design for Walkinshaw’s specific needs rather than asking them to fit into a standard warehouse, and that attention to detail delivered a best-fit outcome.”

Walkinshaw Group Director Ryan Walkinshaw said the new headquarters will be transformational for the business as well as the 1,000-plus staff who will be onsite daily. “Bringing multiple teams and specialist manufacturing lines together for the first time on one purpose-built site will drive enormous cohesion, efficiencies and growth across the Walkinshaw Group,” said Walkinshaw.

“Salta’s understanding of our business ensured an outcome truly reflective of our business and culture — from bespoke signage to purpose-designed engineering and remanufacturing bays. Importantly, the site will support over a thousand local jobs, securing the retention and expansion of light manufacturing roles in Dandenong and the broader region.”

Salta’s approach - offering occupiers a customised design and delivery model rather than an off-the-shelf option - was a key differentiator in securing the landmark pre-lease deal. The development achieved early delivery, enabling an accelerated fit-out and move-in program that allowed Walkinshaw to take occupation ahead of the original programme.

Greater Dandenong City Council Mayor, Cr Sophie Tan said “It is exciting to welcome Walkinshaw Group’s new state-the-art headquarters at Salta's Nexus Dandenong South industrial precinct. This investment reinforces our municipality’s reputation as a hub for manufacturing and innovation. This also brings future employment opportunities for our local community.”

Recognised as the home for major brands such as Bunnings and Woolworths, Nexus Dandenong South’s community continues to benefit from ongoing infrastructure works, including Salta-led upgrades as well as the staged delivery of Bayliss Road which will provide improved access to the Walkinshaw site. Salta is also progressing precinct amenity initiatives, including plans for “The Exchange,” a future food, beverage and services precinct to support on-site workers and visitors.

With only a limited number of development sites remaining at Nexus, the Walkinshaw facility is expected to catalyse further demand in the south-east market.“Salta has been a trusted name in Victoria for more than 55 years; projects like this demonstrate our long-term commitment to quality, long-term solutions and supporting advanced manufacturing and local jobs in Melbourne’s south-east,” added Tarascio.

Walkinshaw now joins 18 businesses calling Nexus Dandenong South home - a 180-hectare precinct owned and operated by Salta, valued for its connectivity to Melbourne’s CBD, the Port of Melbourne and major transport routes.

Walkinshaw Group took occupancy of their new headquarters in October, with the Walkinshaw Andretti United Supercars Championship team to arrive in Q2 2026.
