In a major boost for women’s sport and community leadership, Port Melbourne Chargers Women’s Football Club is proud to announce a landmark three-year Foundation Partnership with leading Melbourne-based property group, Salta.

This exclusive partnership reflects a shared commitment to gender equality, grassroots development, and lasting community impact. Salta, a proud privately-owned Melbourne-based business in operation for over 55 years, has cemented its support as the club’s Foundation Partner, working together to empower the next generation of women in sport, leadership, and beyond.

“At the core of our club is wanting to develop skills on and off the field. We want girls and young women of all ages to know their strengths and to learn how to use these as they mature into strong, independent, and smart women — or even recreate their dreams through knowledge,” said Tara Goss, Sponsorship Lead at PMCWFC.

“This partnership will offer the necessary support and development for more enriched educational and career exposure, and by partnering with a strong, influential company like Salta, we can truly cement our vision for the Port Melbourne Chargers and make it a reality together.”
The partnership will see Salta take a leading role in branding, community programs, and leadership events.

Key elements include:

• Prime branding placement on playing jumpers and in club facilities
• Naming rights to the “Salta Women in Leadership Series” and the annual Salta Medal
• Co-branded merchandise and featured digital campaigns
• Mentoring and career exposure initiatives for players, aligned with Salta’s involvement with the Property Council of Australia’s “Women in Property” and “Girls in Property” programs
• Recognition on the Chargers’ Founders Honour Board

Port Melbourne Chargers offers a unique, purpose-driven football program with pathways spanning from junior grassroots through to senior women’s football and VFL-level opportunities. The club is deeply committed to fostering player development, confidence, and leadership through sport — while also broadening horizons beyond football, into education and career empowerment.

Sam Tarascio, Managing Director of Salta, is proud to be able to support the Chargers over the next three years, while also creating pathways for the next generation of athletes to thrive, both on and off the field.
"We are thrilled to partner with the Port Melbourne Chargers Women’s Football Club as a foundation partner. The club’s passion, leadership, and commitment to excellence mirror our own values at Salta, and together I am confident we will be able to deliver lasting, enduring value for the young women,” said Tarascio.

“Together, over the next three years, we look forward to helping drive growth in women’s football and championing equality and opportunity within the sporting landscape but also beyond."

Kerry Ashbrook, President of Port Melbourne Chargers, added: “We’re proud that Salta has chosen to stand with us as a catalyst for change. They share our vision and commitment to elevating women, building legacy, and creating lasting impact. As our Foundation Partner, we now have a powerful platform to bring this vision to life—setting a new benchmark for what’s possible when community, leadership and purpose come together”.

As the club continues to grow, this partnership marks a defining chapter in building visibility, equity, and opportunity for women in sport.
