A design legacy. The final release in Richmond’s highly successful A Place to Live precinct makes a strong architectural statement on the corner of Burnley and Victoria Streets. Designed by SJB, the building’s curvilinear forms create a graceful and distinct silhouette. Flowing external ribs partner with timber and glass to frame private open spaces, connecting the exhilarating view of Richmond and the City beyond, with the tranquillity of the William Reserve parklands with Richmond’s bustling streetscape. Elevated on sculpted concrete pillars and a glazed ground level, A Place to Live appears to float above the ground. The fluidity of the building’s form, its contrasting façades and transparent entrance level actively engage passersby. The dynamic, striking design of A Place to Live makes it a timeless addition to the vibrant skyline of inner Melbourne.
